What I'm Reading Week 4

I am once again linking with  Reading Reality. who hosts Stacking the Shelves, and The Book Date, who hosts It's Monday! What are you reading?

E-BOOK
I finished Can't Hurt Me, by David Goggins, last week. I am blown away by how awesome this man and the book are! It's the first non-fiction book I gave five stars to on Goodreads this year. You must read it to the end in order to fully appreciate this powerful memoir. You'll be missing out if you stop early. I would be surprised if you wanted to stop early anyway. It's very engaging from beginning to end.

AUDIOBOOK
I listened to more of Alexander Hamilton, by Ron Chernow last week and I should finish it in the next couple of weeks. Although it is very long, I am enjoying listening to it. I'm not sure I'd have the patience to read the 800+ page book, which is why I chose the audio version.

PRINT BOOKS
My main reading goal this week is to finish The Summer We Forgot, by Caroline George.

I should finish Happy Mind, Happy Life: The New Science of Mental Well-Being, by Rangan Chatterjee today. I am really enjoying it.

I started reading some of the short stories in The Original Illustrated Sherlock Holmes, by Arthur Conan Doyle and Sidney Paget (illustrator) a few months ago. I'm planning to read more of them this week. (I also have some of the television episodes on DVD that I started watching.)

Do you have a favorite Sherlock Holmes short story or t.v. episode? Tell me in the comments below!

  1. I haven't read Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories for many years, but if I had to choose one it would be Hound of the Baskervilles as it is set on Dartmoor which is only a 10 minute drive from my home. Goodness, talk about a run on sentence!

    1. Lol! It's okay, I understood every word of it. :) Good to know about The Hound of Baskervilles. Cool that you live so close to the setting! I have not yet read that one.

  4. You've got a good mix of books going on! My most recent Sherlock reads have actually been about Mycroft, his older brother. Try Mycroft Holmes by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - very good and very Holmesian. :) Thanks for the visit.

    1. Wendy, just so you know, I read the "clean" version of Can't Hurt Me. Grateful for that option. :-)
