Hi everyone! After a two week break, I am back to blogging! How have you been doing? It's been a great two weeks for me, but I'm also excited to be connecting with all of you again.
Today I am linking with Reading Reality. who hosts Stacking the Shelves, and The Book Date, who hosts It's Monday! What are you reading? You can stop by their blogs to find out what other participants are reading and to join the blog hops yourselves if you like. It's Monday! What are you reading? actually starts on Mondays, so be sure to stop by then. I prefer to post mine a day earlier to help me get organized for the week ahead.
Here's what I've been reading and listening to (all borrowed from the library):
AUDIOBOOK
I finished listening to A Sprinkling of Murder, by Daryl Wood Gerber. I really love the Fairy Garden Mysteries and I can't wait to review this first in the series here on my blog very soon.
PRINT BOOKS
I also finished reading number 15 in the Hannah Swenson Mysteries, Cinnamon Roll Murder, by Joanne Fluke. This series is close to my heart and this installment did not disappoint. I will be reviewing it on my blog very soon.
After Queen Elizabeth II passed, I found out about The Windsor Knot: A Novel (Her Majesty the Queen Investigates, 1), by Sophia Bennett . Knowing this is a cozy mystery with the queen as the amateur sleuth, I knew I had to read this one. I borrowed it from the library just in time, as it seems to be in fairly high demand right now. I am about one third of the way through it. It is not as clean as I like my cozies and I feel the pacing is a bit slow, but I will see it through. The idea of the queen sleuthing in secret simply amuses me.
That's all for now! What are your thoughts on these books and what are you reading?
I never heard of the Windsor Knot but I can see why the idea of the Queen sleuthing would be interesting. I really want to get back to reading the Joanne Fluke books. I liked the first one and the movies based on the series. Hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteYvonne, I like the movie series too, even though they are a little different than the books. Thank you! :-)
DeleteQueen Elizabeth as a secret sleuth is a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteShe is never mentioned by name in the book, only that she is the queen (at least so far up to the point that I've read). I think it was a good idea not to mention her by name, but it is heavily implied that Queen Elizabeth II is the inspiration for the character. :-)
DeleteThe Windsor Knot looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteWendy, there are moments in the book that have made me laugh out loud. :-)
DeleteThe Windsor Knot does sound interesting. I hope you have a great reading week.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jennifer. You too! :-)
