Happy Top Ten Tuesday! This blog hop is brought to us by That Artsy Reader Girl. On her blog you will see links to the blogs of others who are participating in Top Ten Tuesday. If you are a blogger, feel free to join the party through the linky on her blog post.
I feel like it's been a while since I've done an actual Top Ten list and complied with the week's suggested topic, but today that's exactly what I'm doing. This week's topic is all about the books I plan to read this spring. My TBR list is always evolving and subject to change, but there are certain books I definitely want to read over the next few months. So, without further ado, I present to you, Books on My Spring 2023 To-read List.
I can't believe I haven't read A Hint of Mischief (Fairy Garden Mystery 3), by Daryl Wood Gerber, yet. I absolutely loved the first two, so much that I named my kitty, Fiona, after the fairy amateur sleuth. This series will always be close to my heart because it made me realize the one theme in cozy mysteries I thought would be my least favorite has turned out to be my number one favorite - magic. This is a delightful series, minus the murders, of course.
A Flicker of a Doubt (Fairy Garden Mystery 4), by Daryl Wood Gerber, is set to be published later this month and I will read it soon after it is released. I don't want to wait as long as I've been waiting to read the previous one. This is one of the few series I own copies of and I will definitely add number 4 to my collection.
I've been enjoying this series since I first read the first one. Just this past weekend I checked out from the library Checked Out for Murder (Haunted Library Mystery 4), by Allison Brook. I will read it soon after spring begins, which I believe is when it takes place.
A Brush with Murder (Paint by Murder Mystery 1), by Bailee Abbott, is on the agenda for The Cozy Mystery Book Club and I am reading all of those books this year. Although I am more of a cat person than a dog person, this one looks so cute and I love the artsy theme.
Murder, She Barked (Paws and Claws Mystery 1), by Krista Davis, is also on the agenda for spring in The Cozy Mystery Book Club. This will be the second book by this author I'll be reading. Over Thanksgiving I read The Diva Runs Out of Thyme (Domestic Diva 1), which is one of my favorite book titles in the history of cozy mysteries.
You put a witch in a cozy mystery and I am there for the party. I am currently listening to another one of Heather Blake's books, A Potion to Die For (Magic Potion Mystery 1), and I can't wait to dive into another one that features a witch. It Takes A Witch (Wishcraft Mystery 1), by Heather Blake, is part of The Cozy Mystery Book Club's rereads this year, but this will be my first time reading it.
I have heard so much about Agatha Raisin, so I'm glad The Quiche of Death (Agatha Raisin Mystery 1), by M.C. Beaton, is also on the agenda for The Cozy Mystery Book Club rereads. Again, this will be my first time reading it.
How can I not read a cozy mystery with the words "cat" and "caboodle" in the title? I came up with the idea of Caboodle of Cozies before I knew about this book and I was elated when I did find it. The Whole Cat and Caboodle (Second Chance Cat Mystery 1), by Sofie Ryan, is also part of The Cozy Mystery Book Club rereads, but will be a first-time read for me.
I have been waiting since last fall to read When the Crow's Away (Evenfall Witches B&B Mystery 2), by Auralee Wallace. I read the first one in the series, In the Company of Witches, back in October and it touched me in a way no other cozy ever has. The grief the protagonist feels is something I can relate to. Auralee Wallace touches on this subject in such a profound way, while still keeping the story cozy with a strong mystery. The images of the magic she describes are also so very powerful. Even the part where the killer is revealed took my breath away. There were several paragraphs I read multiple times just to experience the sheer joy of them. This is another series I plan to own copies of and I hope there will be a third one.
I hadn't planned on reading the second book in the Harry Potter series, but the end of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, by J.K. Rowling, left me wanting more. I will be picking it up from the library soon. I'm also planning to watch all of the movies in the series. So far, I've only seen the first one. Although Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the only book on this list that isn't a cozy, it is still full of magic and mystery.
Have you read any of these books? What's on your spring TBR list?
Great reads. Regine

Thank you! :)
DeleteThe only one i read is the Harry Potter book. Those books get darker and somewhat scarier and sadder as Harry gets older.
ReplyDeleteGood to know. :)
DeleteHarry Potter is good. Hope you enjoy all the books.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark! :-)
DeleteFun list! I hope you enjoy them all. I love the title of Murder, She Barked
ReplyDeleteIsn't that so cute, Wendy? Of course it's a play on Murder, She Wrote, but it also makes me think of the Murder, She Baked movies. :-)
DeleteI haven't read any of these cozies, so thanks for the suggestions! I'm always looking for fun ones. I'm a big Harry Potter fan, so I'm glad you're continuing with the series.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
