Friday Features 36

Happy Friday!

Today I'm once again participating in six blog hops.  You can click on the host links below to find the blogs of others who are participating in each blog hop. If you're a blogger, feel free to join through the host links.

Question: Are you team dog-eared pages or strictly no creases?
My response:  I'm Team No Creases, but I won't judge you if you feel otherwise.

Today's excerpts are from the audiobook format of Where the Light Shines Through (Olivia Penn Mystery 1), by Kathleen Bailey.

Here's the beginning:
Olivia Penn drove past Hamilton & Sons General Store, counting down the final fifteen minutes to her hometown of Apple Station for a last visit with her father before her move to New York the following week.

And here's an excerpt from 56%:
"We're going to the emergency room. What's hurting? Did you hit your head?"

Olivia Penn is the main character and amateur sleuth. In the excerpt from 56%, Olivia's father is addressing her. What do you think happened? Of course I'm not going to tell you. You will need to read it to find out. I finished this book yesterday and I loved it! I will post my full review next week. I can say this is a series I will definitely continue! Also, I just love that book cover.

Here's a rare photo of the girls sitting next to each other. Sort of.

Everything's coming up roses!

  1. I’m exactly the same way—NO CREASES! 😊 I love my books to still look nice and crisp too, and I’ve always loved bookmarks. They feel like part of the whole reading experience for me! Happy Reading— and hop over to my post when you get a chance!

    1. Kat, I love bookmarks too. I usually choose one that matches the book or the theme of the book. :)

  2. I'm team no-creases, too. It irritates me when I check out a library which someone has dogeared. How dare they, I think.

    1. If I did do dog ears I certainly wouldn't do it to a library book knowing not everyone likes it that way. :)

  3. I like bookmarks, dog earing the pages is a bit sloppy.

    The book sounds excellent.

The girls are “tandem loafing,” and doing a great job. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday.

    That’s a beautiful rose.

  4. I'm Team No Creases too. I'm mainly an e-reader now, but when I do read a physical book, I love bookmarks. The kitty pic is so cute.

  5. Meezan, yay! I’m delighted you enjoyed the book and love the cover! Natalie did such a great job with the narration.

Fun fact related to this excerpt: about a month before the book was published, I ended up with an injury similar to Olivia’s. Thankfully, not through the same means! But it did force me to learn to use my computer mouse with my left hand, which I still do to this day. Definitely one of those strange fact-meets-fiction moments I don’t want to repeat. πŸ˜‚

Team no-crease here, but I’m like you: I listen, and I don’t judge.

    1. Kathleen, the cover makes me think of fairies, which I love. So sorry that happened to you, but glad you clarified it was for a different reason. LOL! Interesting that you still use your mouse with your left hand. Yeah, I try not to judge others who feel differently. We all have our preferences and reasons. Have a great week! :)
