Fill-ins and Felines Friday Week 1

Welcome to my first ever Blog Hop! On Fridays, I'll be sharing little tidbits of information about myself and about my kittens. Feel free to chime in with your responses in the comments!

Question: If you are listening to an audiobook, do you follow along with the print version?

My response: No. If I do read the book it is always before or after listening to the entire audiobook. When I listen to audiobooks, it's usually while I'm doing household chores.

1. I would rather hear nails on a chalkboard than thunder. I've never been a fan of thunderstorms.

2. The best part of  the day is early morning. It's when I'm at my best.

3. I wouldn't mind if oatmeal disappeared. It's one of my least favorite foods.

4. If I could create one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, it would be that public places, such as grocery stores, medical centers, etc., must be accessible to the disabled. ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) helps in the U.S., but there are loopholes and it isn't enforced the way it should be.

On Saturday, July 2nd Bell and Fiona were rescued. These are the names I gave the ten-week-old female kittens when I adopted them. They are siblings from the same litter. (When I adopted them, I was told they were ten weeks old, but their paperwork says May 1st, so that's the date they will celebrate their birthday.)

Bell is named after the beloved Disney fairy, Tinker Bell. She is a dilute tortie, who is a very curious climber and jumper, but she also loves to snuggle and give nose kisses. I have nicknamed her Miss Bell, Baby Bella (fairies do live in mushroom homes, after all), and Mini Muffin.

Fiona is gray and white and she is named after a fairy amateur sleuth sidekick in one of my favorite cozy mystery book series - Fairy Garden Mysteries, by Daryl Wood Gerber. Fiona also happens to be the name of the human amateur sleuth in another cozy mystery I love, "Flowers and Foul Play", by Amanda Flower. Both cozies have magical elements in them. Fiona looks a lot like Tom from Tom and Jerry, and she acts like him, too. She has been carefully observing her sister and has turned into quite the climber herself. She loves to play rough, but she can also be a love bug when she chooses to be. I have nicknamed her Fi (pronounced "fee"), Fi Fi (pronounced "fee fee"), and Miss Fiona.

  5. I don't read along with audio books either. I can get used to audio books with multiple readers doing multiple characters, it's like a movie without the pictures. Those were really good answers too. Awww, welcome home to Bell and Fiona, they are so darn adorable!

  9. Bell and Fiona are adorable.
I don't like thunderstorms either. The first rumble of thunder I unplug everything even though we have surge protection.

    1. Thank you. :-) I can understand that. I don't use electrical appliances when I hear thunder.
