Felines and Fill-ins Week 5

Happy Friday, friends! How has your week been? I hope your weekend is everything you want it to be.

It's time for another triple blog hop. Feel free to join the blog hops by clicking on the host links below if you're a blogger or comment with your responses. You can also hop around and read other responses by clicking on the links on the host's site.

Question: If you receive a request from an author to read his/her book and you don't have time, do you suggest another way to help the author?

My response: I haven't been reviewing books for very long and I've only reviewed a few since starting this blog in late July, so it's no surprise that I have never been asked to review an author's book.  I would be incredibly honored if I was asked. If I didn't have time to read the book, I would most definitely suggest another way to help the author.

FRIENDLY FILL-INS, hosted by Four-Legged Furballs and 15 and Meowing
1. I collect only a handful of books. Two entire series that I collect are Fairy Garden Mysteries, by Daryl Wood Gerber and Grilled Cheese Mysteries, by Linda Reilly. Those are especially near and dear to my heart for various reasons and I can see myself opening them again and again. I do own other books, but not entire series. I do support authors in other ways by rating and reviewing books on Goodreads and by asking my local library to purchase the books.

2. I recently treated myself to a Debbie Gibson concert! She is not only one of my all-time favorite singers, but she's also one of my favorite humans. She recently did an intimate concert in NYC to celebrate the 35th anniversary of her debut album, "Out of the Blue". The concert sold out and I could not have attended anyway. However, it was livestreamed so anyone around the world could join the fun from home. It was just over two hours long and it was a very reasonable cost. I'm so glad I did this. I really enjoyed it and I was happy to support her.

3. I used to dislike reading back when I was in school. Thankfully, so much has changed since then!

4. Though I have never had a dog I have had birds, cats, and gerbils as a child and cats, a guinea pig, and hamsters as an adult. Currently, I just have two cats (well, still kittens).

The girls have a follow-up vet appointment on Saturday. It's been five weeks since their last appointment and they've grown so much since then! They are now about four months old. They did fine at their last appointment, so I'm hoping for the same this time around.

Relaxing after dinner

  2. Love your fill-ins and especially about books. I have tons of books, but I don't really collect them. I get them, read them and pass them on.

    1. Thank you for sharing your fill-ins, Kathe! You'll never see me parachute out of a plane either. In fact, I'm not fond of planes in general. Lol. Enjoy your weekend as well! :-)

  5. The girls are so cute! Great fill ins. I used to dislike reading when I was in school, too. Now, it's the main thing I love to do. I enjoy the grilled cheese mysteries too. I'm a book behind, but they really are great cozies. Have a great weekend!

  6. I have only been blogging a year and haven't had that many direct requests. I get a bit nervous about posting something that I haven't personally read.

I have read some really great things though from the direct requests that I have had.

    Have a great weekend!
