Top Ten Tuesday - Books I've Read, But Not Yet Reviewed

It's Tuesday, so I am once again linking with That Artsy Reader Girl who hosts Top Ten Tuesday. You can click on the link to her blog post to view her list and to view links to the lists composed by other bloggers participating in this blog hop. Different bloggers often put their own unique spin on the suggested topics.

This week's theme is a freebie, so I've decided to list books that I've read, but not yet reviewed on my blog. I started my blog this past summer, so I just picked up where I was with my reading instead of trying to go back and review all of them here. I did rate them on Goodreads, so I'll share the star ratings (translated to mushrooms) I gave them. I would consider all of these cozy reads, but not necessarily mysteries. They are listed in alphabetical order.

Body and Soul Food (Books and Biscuits Mysteries 1), by Abby Collette
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
This first in series was okay. The mystery was strong and the subplots were interesting, but they felt like separate stories. I would have enjoyed it more if they came together more than they did.

Farm to Trouble (Farm to Table Mysteries 1), by Amanda Flower
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
This is easily one of my favorite cozies. I'm glad it was my introduction to Amanda Flower. Her style of writing flows so well. (You can read my review of the second one, Put Out to Pasture, here.)

Flowers and Foul Play (Magic Garden Mysteries 1), by Amanda Flower
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
Yep, another one by Amanda Flower! It's another strong mystery. I just wanted more of the magical element in it.

Mount Vernon Love Story, by Mary Higgins Clark
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
This was Mary Higgins Clark's first novel, which was originally titled Aspire to the Heavens. It's quite different than what she's mostly known for, but it's the only book I've ever read that was written by her. It's a beautiful, well-researched story and flawlessly written in the form of flashbacks and "flash forwards". I had high expectations, but it was even better than I expected it to be.

Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
What can I say about this classic? It's the ultimate clean and cozy historical romance read.

Puzzling Ink (Crossword Puzzle Mysteries 1)
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
This was a fun read and the struggles the protagonist faced in her everyday life were very real. I only wish the crossword puzzle aspect played more of a role in solving the mystery.

Sapped (Maple Syrup Mysteries 0.5), by Emily James
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
This was an average start to the long running series (nine installments). This is a novella which gives us an introduction to our protagonist and her story. I imagine I will enjoy the main books more. I have number one on my TBR for next year.

The Dogs of Christmas, by Bruce Cameron
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
This is like a Hallmark movie in the form of a book. It was cute and very relatable in some ways, but I think I might enjoy a movie version, if they ever make one, more.

The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
This is a heart-warming and cozy story that started a string of romance novels written by Nicholas Sparks. It's the book that made me a fan of his work.

Up to No Gouda (Grilled Cheese Mysteries 1), by Linda Reilly
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
Although I enjoyed the second installment, No Parm No Foul, more, this was a strong start to the series. (You can read my review of No Parm No Foul here.)

A few of them are repeats that I've featured on previous top ten lists, but since I only became an avid reader last year, I don't have a whole lot more to pull from. That is quickly changing.πŸ˜€

Do any of these spark your interest? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I read TONS of Mary Higgins Clark when I was in high school! Her mysteries are great, but I also really liked MOUNT VERNON LOVE STORY as well as her memoir, KITCHEN PRIVILEGES.

    Happy TTT!

  2. Yeah, I did the same thing when I started blogging. It’s just about impossible to review every book you’ve read. :)

    1. Cindy, I would like to read more of Mary Higgins Clarks other books, the ones she is most famous for. Amanda Flower seems to write something for everyone (in the cozy genre).I'm a longtime fan of Nicholas Sparks and it is my goal to eventually read all of his books. :-)
