Welcome to the first edition for 2023 of Top Ten Tuesday! This blog hop is brought to us by That Artsy Reader Girl. On her blog you will see links to the blogs of others who are participating in Top Ten Tuesday.
Today's topic is favorite books of 2022. Here is my top ten (in the order that I read them), all of which received five out of five stars from me. If I wrote a review, it is linked to the title and author of the book.
Farm to Trouble (Farm to Table 1), by Amanda Flower
This was the first book I read by Amanda Flower and I was hooked. Her writing style is strong and the this story flows so well. I read this before I started blogging, so I don't have a review of it, but you can read my review of the second installment in the series, Put Out to Pasture, here.
Mount Vernon Love Story, by Mary Higgins Clark
This is the first book written by Mary Higgins Clark and the only one of hers I've read. It's written in the style of flashbacks and flash forwards that are seamlessly woven together. It's about so much more than his love story with Martha,
Fiona, the amateur fairy sidekick sleuth is delightful!
I read this book in four days, which at the time was the least amount of time it took me to read a cozy. If I didn't have other responsibilities, I could have read it in one day. It contains a well-crafted and fun-filled mystery that I did not want to put down!
Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds, by David Goggins
I read the clean version for a book club and I loved this memoir! This was another one that was difficult to put down. It's also a sort of guidebook on how to "master your mind". He gives practical strategies at the end of each chapter. (Definitely not a "cozy" read, though!)
This was a nice contrast to Can't Hurt Me because the tone is quite different. It's a self-improvement book that's easy to follow with practical strategies suggested.
This is turning out to be a fun series and this first installment was very entertaining!
There is nothing I don't love about this cozy - the mystery, the magic, the emotion. It's all there.
High Strung: A Glass Bead Mystery 1, by Janice Peacock
I ended my 2022 cozy mystery reads on a high note with this humorous book. I have not reviewed it yet, but I definitely will soon. Spoiler Alert: I can't wait to read book 2 in the series!
Snow in Jerusalem, by Deborah da Costa
This is a children's book that I've had on my physical bookshelf for years. I read it when I first received it and I read it again to end 2022. It's a heart-warming story about two boys, one Muslim and one Jewish, who meet and bond as a result of unknowingly caring for the same stray cat.
Farm to Trouble sounds interesting!

ReplyDeleteI hope there will be more in that series, Diana. I know the author has been facing some health challenges, but I think she's doing better. I haven't read the second one yet, but the first one touched me in a way no other book has. :-)
