Happy Friday, friends!
I am participating in FOUR blog hops today! I am adding Book Beginnings to the lineup, along with Book Blogger Hop, Friday 56, and Feline Friday. With Book Beginnings, I'll share the first line (or sometimes first few lines) of a book I read, am currently reading, or plan to read.
You can click on the host links below to read the blogs of others who are participating in each blog hop, and if you're a blogger, feel free to join through the links below!
Question: Have you ever read with a booklight?
My response: Yes, I read with a booklight fairly frequently, although now that the sun is rising earlier and setting later, I won't use it as often. I have one that has a warm amber LED bulb that is easy on the eyes. It has three brightness settings and I usually only use the lowest one. It also has a rechargeable battery.
The only problem is that the cats like to poke at the light (or in Fiona's case, also chew on it) while I'm using it. So if the cats are "in a mood" and I want to read before the sun rises or after it sets, I hide in the bedroom.
Today's excerpts are from the hardcover format of A Brush with Murder (Paint by Murder Mystery 1), by Bailee Abbott, which I'm currently reading.
I rounded the next bend in the road and at once gripped the wheel. Flashing lights bordering a huge sign grabbed my attention.
And here's an excerpt from page 56:
"That's not a reason to kill, is it?" Izzy tilted her head and paused, as if waiting for one of us to answer. "If it is, then the Chautauqua County authorities should question every person she's written about."
So, in the beginning, our narrator is greeted by some sort of sign that grabbed her attention and already by page 56 a group of people are speculating about a possible murder. I love how this book jumps right into the mystery and I can't wait to find out what happens. I am planning to finish this book by Monday or Tuesday and post my review next week, so stay tuned!
On May 1st, Fiona (left) and Bell (right) will be celebrating their first birthday. Today, I'm taking it back to when they were first adopted. These pictures were taken at the cat rescue, where they spent only one day before they found their forever home. They were ten weeks old. (Prior to that, they were fostered.) The year has been flying by so fast!
Cute cover and teasers. And your kittens were so cute! Happy REading!
