Happy Fun Friday!
I renamed my Friday post because instead of Fill-ins today, and possibly for future Friday posts, I will be participating in a different blog hop - Friday 56. For this blog hop, I will share an excerpt from page 56 in a print book or from 56% in digital format. The purpose of this is to give you a spoiler-free glimpse into a book I have read or am currently reading.
In addition to Friday 56, I will continue to participate in Book Blogger Hop and Feline Friday.
You can click on the host links below to read the blogs of others who are participating, and if you're a blogger, feel free to join through the links below!
Question: Do you spend your lunchtime reading?
My response: No. I spend my lunchtime eating and watching television, usually the second half of a Hallmark movie. I watch the first half while having breakfast. On the rare occasion when I listen to an audiobook, I am usually doing household chores. When I'm reading a print book or an e-book, it's usually the only thing I'm doing at the time.
Today's excerpt is from page 56 of A Hint of Mischief (Fairy Garden Mystery 3), by Daryl Wood Gerber.
The word face-lift made me think of Farrah and her mishap at the spa. "Misty, how was Farrah after you went for cosmos?"
"Much better. Laughing about the whole thing, actually. She's already meeting with the microblader." Misty polished off her cookie and added a teaspoon of sugar to her iced tea. She stirred it with a long spoon. "A few mini tattoos and she'll be right as rain."
I am about one quarter of the way through with this book and I'm hoping to finish it in a few days so I can post a review next week. Stay tuned!
I don't know how she fits comfortably on this bar stool, but Fiona likes to sit here sometimes and look out the window. This is a bar stool that should be by the kitchen, but it was moved so that the cats would stop playing on it. They were getting themselves into some interesting situations and also using it to climb onto the kitchen counter. They probably wouldn't go crazy with the stool anymore now that they are older, but when they run around at lightning speed chasing each other they could hurt themselves on it. So for now, the bar stool is still in the bedroom where they rarely go unsupervised.
The stool gives Fiona a good view out of the window.
ReplyDeleteIt does. She likes to sit by the window know matter which room she's in. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a bad habit in my family to read and eat at the same time. We all do it, when i was growing up we'd pass newspaper sections back and forth over the table as we all read the paper and ate meals. Weird, i know.
ReplyDeleteThat stool looks like a great perch.
Thank you so much for joining Feline Friday!
Lol. Well, at least your entire family was okay with it. I'm sure lots of people would frown on me for watching t.v. while I eat. Oh well. It actually helps me to slow down and enjoy my food more. :-)
DeleteDaryl Wood Gerber is an author I've been wanting to try. She's on my wishlist. This sounds like a good one. Fiona has a great view! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYvonne, this is the only series I've been reading by her. It's one of my favorite cozy series. I definitely want to read some of her other ones. :-)
DeleteI read whenever I have the time to. Even if my lanch is short I will take the chance to read.
ReplyDeleteThat's understandable. We have to make the most of the time we have. :-)
DeleteWorking in an office, it's easier to read during lunch than watch part of a movie. LOL. Sounds like you still make your time for reading but prioritize a little differently. Have a great weekend. - Katie
ReplyDeleteMy BBH if you care to visit - https://justanothergirlandherbooks.blogspot.com/2023/04/book-blogger-hop-7-april-2023.html
Lol Katie! Yes, I imagine reading a book would be easier than watching a movie at work. :D
