Fun on Friday 37

Happy Friday, friends!

I am once again participating in four blog hops today. You can click on the host links below to read the blogs of others who are participating in each blog hop. If you're a blogger, feel free to join through their links!

QuestionAre you reading more e-books lately?

My response: Yes, but that's because I'm reading more books in general than I used to. I still mostly read print books. I only read an e-book if I'm not planning to buy the print book and my library can't obtain it within the timeframe I want to read it.

Today's excerpts are from Murder, She Barked (Paws and Claws Mystery 1), by Krista Davis.

Here is the first sentence:
It hadn't been the best day.

And here's an excerpt from page 56 in the paperback format:
He smiled as he spoke, drawing me in with his warmth. "I didn't have any intention of moving here, but when I came to visit last Christmas, I didn't want to leave. And here I am! There's something addictive about Wagtail."

I won't say exactly how long because I don't want to spoil it for you if you haven't read it, but that day that hadn't been the best day referenced in the first sentence lasted quite a while. This book dives right into the action and I just kept wanting the protagonist to finally get some rest!

The excerpt from page 56 is a conversation that's indicative of just how charming Wagtail is. It is a very pet friendly town and every business has a name that refers to animals. The name of the pharmacy, for example, is cleverly named HEAL! (The exclamation point is included in the name.)

Have you read this book? I'm about halfway done and plan to finish over the weekend.

Here is Bell counting down the minutes until her next meal.
