Happy Top Ten Tuesday! This blog hop is brought to us by That Artsy Reader Girl. On her blog you will see links to the blogs of others who are participating in Top Ten Tuesday. If you are a blogger, feel free to join the party through the linky on her blog post.
Today's suggested topic is Bookish Wishes. I am tweaking mine to Books I Recently Added to my TBR List. These are not necessarily books I will own, but they are ones I definitely want to read. I came across some of them from fellow bloggers, while others I just happened to stumble upon.
Death of a Fairy Tale (Mari Fable Mysteries 1), by Emily Fluke, is not necessarily a cozy mystery, but it seems like a cozy feeling book to me. I'm intrigued by twists on fairy tales. This one seems like it has a Once Upon a Time vibe.
A Fang to Remember (Vampire Pet Boutique Mystery 1)), by Elle Wren Burke, is definitely one I want to own. The amateur sleuth is a disabled vampire. The author herself has the same disability as the protagonist, so she writes from her own experience in that respect. I have been searching for strong disability representation in cozies and I believe I came across a gem with this series. I'm currently reading the prequel to the series, Almost Fangmous.
Daisies for Innocence (Enchanted Garden Mystery 1), by Bailey Cattrell, was recommended to me by someone who knows I have been reading (and enjoying) the Fairy Garden Mysteries, by Daryl Wood Gerber.
Odder, by Katherine Applegate, is a young reader's book. I love otters and this book just looks too cute to overlook!
Yep. Here we go with the spells again. As you can probably tell, I love paranormal cozies, and A Spell for Trouble (An Enchanted Bay Mystery 1), by Esme Addison, seems like it fits the bill. This one, I believe, involves a mermaid. That's something I have never read about in a cozy before. Seeing as how mermaids are also known as water witches, I can't pass this one up.
When I heard that a new Poirot movie is coming out later this year, I gained interest in the book it will be based on, Hallowe'en Party, by Agatha Christie. I may break my own rule and read the book before watching the movie. Usually I do it the opposite way around, but it might be a while before I watch the movie and I don't think I can wait that long! I'll probably eventually borrow the DVD from the library when it becomes available.
You put a cat in a paranormal cozy and you get something like Paws and Probable Cause (Claw and Order 1), by Molly Fitz. It's everything I love in a cozy!
Do any of these capture your attention? Have you read any of them? Let's chat in the comments!
Odder looks adorable!
