Top Ten Tuesday - Books on My Summer 2023 to-Read List

Happy Top Ten Tuesday! This blog hop is brought to us by That Artsy Reader Girl. On her blog you will see links to the blogs of others who are participating in Top Ten Tuesday. If you are a blogger, feel free to join the party through the linky on her blog post.

Today's topic is Books on My Summer 2023 to-Read List and I am actually going to follow directions with this one. Lol. I looked back at my spring version of this kind of list and found that I read or listened to seven of the ten books I listed. There were three I didn't read and several others I did read that were not on the list. Even though I don't always stick to these lists, they do help me get organized. I like having a plan.

So here are ten books I'm planning to read this summer. I'm sure there will be more, but this is a start.

Murder on the Beach (Destination Murders Mystery 1) is a collection of short stories that I had planned on starting already. It's still on my list for early summer. The authors whose works are included in this collection are Karen Cantwell, Ritter Ames, Lucy Carol, Barb Goffman, Eleanor Cawood Jones, Shari Randall, Shawn Reilly Simons, and Cathy Wiley.
I read Survival of the Fritters (Deputy Donut Mystery 1), by Ginger Bolton, earlier this year for one book club, but it's also the July pick for The Cozy Mystery Book Club. I'm going to listen to the audiobook to refresh my memory. I do remember enjoying it...and craving donuts.

A Killer Plot (Books by the Bay Mystery 1), by Ellery Adams, is the August pick for The Cozy Mystery Book Club.

Death on the Shelf (Haunted Library Mystery 5), by Allison Brook, is part of a series I've been reading seasonally. I believe this one takes place in the summer.

Fillet of Murder (Deep Fried Mystery 1), by Linda Reilly, is a book I won in a giveaway last year. I have been saving it for this summer. I have been enjoying other books written by Linda Reilly, so I think I will enjoy this one too.
It's almost time to pick up this series again. I read Blackberry Pie Murder (Hannah Swensen Mystery 17), by Joanne Fluke, last year, but I have not yet reviewed it. So, I'm going to listen to the audiobook to refresh my memory before moving on to the rest of the series.
#Follow Me for Murder (Trending Topic Mystery 1) and #Tag Me for Murder (Trending Topic Mystery 2), by Sarah E. Burr, were recent giveaway wins and I'm planning to read both of them in July this year.
I am so looking forward to jumping into A Bead in Hand (Glass Bead Mystery 2), by Janice Peacock!

Furmidable Foes (Mrs. Murphy Mystery 29) was a birthday gift this year. I have not yet read any books in this series, but I'm still going to read this one first. Then I'll decide if I want to go back to the beginning.
Summer Reading, by Jenn McKinlay, is the only book on this list that isn't a cozy mystery. I placed a hold on the e-book format through Libby and it should become available in the next couple of weeks. I would prefer to read a print copy, but I won't be able to borrow it before the end of summer and I want to read it before fall begins.

What's on your summer TBR list? Is there a book that's top priority for you? Tell me in the comments!
