Question: Do you have a routine for getting ready to read.
My response: Usually I just pick up my book and reading glasses and find a comfortable spot to sit where there's no glare. If it's before the sun rises in the morning or after the sun has set in the evening, then I also attach my book light to my book if it's a physical book I'm reading.
Today's excerpts are from the Kindle format of Death on Cozumel Island (Claire O'Keefe Mystery 1), by Cindy Quayle. This is a cozy mystery and it is her debut novel. I won it from the author in a giveaway.
I looked at the steam rising from the carafe that held the dark amber liquid. This has become my favorite drink since I moved to the Middle East six months ago.
And here's an excerpt from 56%:
Before I could mention I just received a discount, senor Dominguez said, "Elena, please give this nice young lady a ten percent discount because she's a great friend to the shop." With that, the owner winked at me and left the shop whistling.
Contrary to what it may seem from the first two lines, the majority of this story is set in Cozumel, Mexico, not the Middle East. That's obvious from the title. The dive shop is central to the story. That's why I chose the above excerpt from 56%. When I'm done reading the book, probably next week, I will post a review.
I don't have much of a reading "routine" either, just grab a book and I'm gone.
ReplyDeleteBell has a most interesting pose, how long does she usually hold that?
Thank you for joining Feline Friday!
Just a few minutes. It's usually a brief resting position. Maybe she understands the importance of stretching after exercise. :-)
DeleteBell is so cute. That book looks great. I'll have to look for it. Congrats on the win!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yvonne! :-)
DeleteBell looks like she is getting ready to launch herself into a game.
ReplyDeleteShe had just finished playing. I think she was stretching after being so active. :-)
DeleteI'll be interested in hearing your thoughts on this book.
ReplyDeleteMark, I breezed through the last 40% of the book and finished it today! Stay tuned. :-)
