Four for Friday - Westerns, a Chatty Cat, and Lady Bugs

Happy Friday, friends!

Today I'm participating in four blog hops. The host for Friday 56 is taking a break, but I'll continue to share excerpts. You can click on the host links below to read the blogs of others who are participating in each blog hop. If you're a blogger, feel free to join through their links!

Question: Have you ever read a western? If so, do you enjoy the genre?

My response: No, I have never read a western. It isn't my genre of choice, but I can't really say if I enjoy it or not until I try it.

Today's excerpts are from the e-book format of Purrs and Poison (Chatty Cat Mystery 1), by Elle Wren Burke.

Here are the couple of sentences:
"That's my spot. Move."
And here's a teaser from 56%:
He gave me a little bow over his plate of grilled cheese and sweet potato fries.

I love the first line. It's short and sweet, yet it says so much about whomever is speaking. I chose the excerpt from 56% because it mentioned grilled cheese, which I love.

This is an ARC of a book that already released on Halloween. I'll post my review next week, so stay tuned!

Here are the girls on the tower looking at the lady bugs that were on the balcony.

  1. That sounds like an interesting book. I like the opening!

I've never read a Western. It never occurred to me to even look for one to read.

    Have a great weekend!

  2. Those lady bugs are holding their attention. The light is showing off the different colour of their eyes too.

  3. I'm not a huge fan of westerns, either, but my Sweetie is.

Grilled cheese and sweet potato fries sounds delighful.

The girls are watching "window TV," quite entertaining. Thank you for joining Feline Friday!
