P is for physical therapy. Wednesday was my last day of physical therapy. I had been going once a week for nine weeks (minus one week that I missed). I learned some new exercises that are great for upper and lower body strength training, as well as a couple of exercises to practice balancing. My physical therapist was very patient with me and she taught me how to do the exercises correctly so that I can do them on my own. I also have printouts with pictures to help me remember how to do them.
So, the plan now is that I will do them at home instead of going to the facility. She suggested I do upper body strength training twice a week and lower body strength training twice a week. So, I'm thinking I'll do upper body on Mondays and Thursdays and lower body on Tuesdays and Fridays. She said if I find that I'm falling back after the new year, I can always contact them again. She told me that building strength can take six month, so I'll have to be patient with myself. For cardio, I'll do Zumba on Wednesdays and I'll continue taking walks about five days a week. On days when I can't get my walks in for whatever reason (such as weather conditions), I'll do some hand cycling.
I'm glad you got the therapy and hope you continue to get stronger.
ReplyDeletePeanut butter. Also, other nut butters, but peanut is the fall back favorite.
Thank you! My preference is cashew butter, but I like peanut butter too. :)
DeleteP for perseverance.
ReplyDeleteGood one, Mihail! :)
