Well, here we are almost on Thanksgiving Day and I'm just now posting my October lists of movies and books. Soon it will be time to share my November lists, so before anymore time goes by...here are the lists!
MOVIES
Letterboxd allows for half star ratings for movies, but I'm sticking to whole instead of sliced mushrooms. The heart indicates when the movie had the "it" factor, that something special that makes it a favorite of mine. It's probably one I would re-watch. It does not have to earn five mushrooms in order to earn a heart. There could be plot holes, etc., but if it was still immensely enjoyable, it earned a heart.
The number on the left is the date in October when I watched the movie. Most of the time, I watch half a movie in the morning while having breakfast and the second half in the afternoon while having lunch. Hallmark movies, which are mostly what I watch, are all less than 90 minutes long without commercials, so via DVR, I can easily watch one per day most days.

31 A Haunting in Venice (2023)πππ
The only two on this list that are not Hallmark movies are Anne of Green Gables and A Haunting in Venice. Some of the others were premieres in October, while many others are from autumns past. Looking at this list, I realize how many reviews I need to post. Hallmark premiered several new mysteries in October and I only reviewed one so far. I re-watched Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Murder in G Major in the hopes of reviewing it, but that didn't happen. I'm hoping to post reviews for the remaining Hallmark mystery premieres by the end of the year. Let's see how that goes!
A note about Love, Of Course. As you can see from my rating, I loved this movie! It was my favorite movie in October that I watched for the first time. Cameron Mathison was the lead actor in this movie. He is the lead actor in the Hannah Swensen mystery series. Now that he's signed a contract with GAC Family, it will be interesting to see what happens with the Hannah Swensen series. Either way, I'll continue to watch his movies on whichever channel they air. He's one of my favorite actors and one of my favorite humans in general.
I liked Midnight Masquerade. This is one of a handful of Halloween-themed movies on Hallmark. It wasn't perfect, but what do you except from a Hallmark-ified version of Cinderella? Like Pride and Prejudice, I'll watch any adaptation of Cinderella, not matter how loose it is.
I had been saving the All of My Heart trilogy for the fall, since that is when they take place. I like them, but probably not enough to watch them again. The first one was the best one, I think.
I finished watching all of The Good Witch movies that come before the television series. I'll watch the television series next year.
A Very Venice Romance fell into the great scenery, weak storyline trap. That and A Haunting in Venice were my least favorite movies in October. Ha! I just realized they both are set in Venice! Nothing against Venice. It was beautiful. But the movies didn't measure up to the scenery.
BOOKS
Bookmory is an app that generates a calendar when I enter the books I read or listened to. Below the calendar are my ratings for each book. The icons indicate the format in which I enjoyed the books.
I don't give hearts for books like I do for movies because I rarely re-read books. When I do, it's usually because I haven't reviewed it yet and I need to refresh my memory before I do or because it's part of a book club and I need to refresh my memory for that reason. Otherwise, there are too many that I want to read and it would take too much time to reread them. Also, many of them are part of a series, of which I have so much catching up to do.

Lord of the Wings (Meg Winslow Mystery 19), written by Donna Andrews and narrated by Bernadette Dunneπ§
I enjoyed all of them, but as you can see, I had a clear favorite! I've linked it to my review.
Until next time, that's all for now! I will try not to wait until Christmas to post my November lists. ;-)
It certainly looks like you've stayed busy.
ReplyDeleteI didn't read as much as I would have liked to, but I did the best I could with everything else that was happening that month. :)
