Question: How long have you gone without reading?
My response: I became an avid reader just three years ago. So before then, it was a long time (years) that I read for pleasure. I had very little "me" time when I was a teacher and since reading comprehension was never my strong point (especially when I was younger), I just didn't take the time to do it for pleasure.
Since I've become an avid reader, I'd guess that the longest I've gone without reading was one week.
Although I listened to the audiobook, today's excerpts are from the paperback format of #TagMe for Murder (Trending Topic Mystery 2), by Sarah E. Burr.
"How did I get stuck driving?" Jasper Hastings muttered as he navigated his sporty Porsche out of our quiet, beachside development.
And here's an excerpt from page 56:
My phone buzzed on Jasper's kitchen countertop. I snatched it up and felt my stomach flip-flop as I read the notification.
What do you think the notification Coco (our amateur sleuth) received is all about? I hope you'll read the book to find out. You can read my five-star review here.
This is a rare sighting of Fiona sitting in the bottom part of their tower. This is her signature pose, though. She loves to sit with one front leg extended. I think she likes to show off her white "glove".
Darling photo of your cat. I am living a catless life for the first time in my life right now. Though I do have four grandcats...all four of them gingers and very big.
ReplyDeleteAnne, I'm so glad you still have cats in your life in some way. :)
DeleteCute book. Adorable cat! Thanks for sharing your post on Book Beginnings!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gilion! :)
Delete#TagMe for Murder sounds like a lot of fun! Oh! I love the photo. One of my cats likes to "hide" in the enclosed parts of her tree from time to time whereas you will not find my other cat there ever--at least as far as I know. I am glad you have more time for reading now. :-) I hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThank you! You too! :)
Delete#Tag Me For Murder is on my wishlist. It looks really good. Fiona looks so cute. I love when they sit in those little compartments on the cat trees. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yvonne. It's a great series. I have enjoyed every book by Sarah E. Burr. :)
DeleteI like the quotes.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your current read!
Thank you, Breana! :)
DeleteI don't remember what Coco's notification was about, it's been so long since I read it now.
ReplyDeleteMark, it is hard to remember such details, especially since we read so many cozies. :)
DeleteExactly. I've probably read 100 books since I read this one. One reason why I don't catch errors that happen between books.
DeleteYou have a lovely white glove to show off, Fiona.
ReplyDeleteFiona says thank you! :)
DeleteHappy weekend! Glad you enjoyed this one, it looks interesting. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cindy. It's a great series. :)
DeleteI do love reading, but working time does cut into reading time. Maybe someday I can retire and read more.
ReplyDeleteA phone message can change things quickly, can't it.
Fiona, I like your glove. You have a beautiful little hidey-hole there. Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
I'm retired (on disability) and still don't have all the time I would like to have to read. But yes, it's definitely more time than when I was working. Fiona says thank you. :)
