Happy Top Ten Tuesday! This blog hop is brought to us by That Artsy Reader Girl. On her blog you will see links to the blogs of others who are participating in Top Ten Tuesday. If you are a blogger, feel free to join the party through the linky on her blog post.
This week's topic is Books I Meant to Read or Listen to in 2023, but Didn't Get To. There are so many! This is by no means a complete list, but here are ten of them. Although there are some books in other genres that I didn't get to, this list only includes cozy mysteries:
I started reading this last summer, but then life happened and I started to fall behind with everything. I'm currently listening to it now and enjoying it.
I really wanted to read this in the fall. I even have my own copy of it. I'm looking forward to reading it this year, most likely long before fall.
I started to read this around Thanksgiving since that's when it's set, but again, I fell behind and decided to put it off until this year. I hope to read it in November this year. I really enjoyed the one Murder, She Wrote book I listened to and this one has the same vibe.
I have my own physical copy of this book and I had planned on reading it last year. I really want to get started on this series, so hopefully that will happen this year.
I was doing so well reading each book in this series during the seasons in which they are set, but time got away from me in the fall last year. I am planning to read it this year. I really like this series.
Double Fudge Brownie Murder (Hannah Swensen Mystery 19), by Joanne Fluke
I'm still trying to work my way through the series that started it all for me. I had hoped to read this one last year, along with a few others in the series. Maybe 2024 will be the year I get all caught up.

I was hoping to listen to this on audio during the holiday season, but I can't find it on Hoopla or Libby. Maybe I'll make time to read it this year, instead of waiting for the audiobook to become available to borrow.
I LOVED Hallmark's adaptation of this book last year and I had planned on reading it after watching the movie. It's on my bookgenda for this year.
I really hoped to read this second in series last year. Maybe I will read it during Christmas in July this year like I did the first one last year.
Every time I even think of this series, I laugh because the whole idea of a skeleton that walks and talks is so amusing to me. I listened to the first in this series last year and I had planned on listening to the second one. Hopefully this year I will make that happen.
Looking at this list, I realize all of these were on my bookgenda for the second half of last year. Part of the reason I fell behind, I think, is because there are so many books set in the fall and winter that I wanted to read and I'm a mostly seasonal reader. The other reason is because things started happening in my life in the summer, which set me back the rest of the year.
The good news, of course, is the books are still out there in the world, with some being in my home. They aren't going anywhere, so I will still have a chance to read them this year.
A few of these are books I've been wanting to read too. There are just so many cozies out there. It's hard to read them all. Hope you get a chance to read some of these.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Yvonne. When I first started reading cozies, I was amazed to find how many there are!! :)
DeleteLOL, I commented on your comment on my post that Assaulted Caramel was another one that has been on my TBR forever, and here we are, LOL! Maybe we both will get to them this year!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Glad to know I'm not the only one who hasn't started the series yet! :)
DeleteClearly cozies require a cute turn of phrase for their title. I love all of your titles here.
ReplyDeleteLol...yes, most have "punny" titles. :-)
DeleteI don't know if I've been living under a rock my whole life, but I had no idea that MURDER, SHE WROTE was book series. I used to watch the show with my mom. Lot of fond memories.

Jenni, if you enjoyed the t.v. show, I recommend the book series. There are a lot of books in the series, but they there is no need to read them in order. They have the same vibe as the t.v. show. I listened to one (Murder on Parade) on audiobook and it was excellent! :)
DeleteIsn't it nice to get another chance this year.
ReplyDeleteSure is! :-)
DeleteCongrats, you are a reader. I can't think of all the books I meant to read but haven't gotten to read yet. It's definitely a sign you are officially a reader. If only I could read faster. I'll get to them all eventually, and you will, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't recommend the Mrs. Claus series highly enough. Make sure you get it read this year.
Thanks, Mark. :) I will make the Mrs. Claus series high priority this year. Maybe I'll start during Christmas in July.
DeleteI enjoy the Amish Candy Shop series, but I haven't read any of these others. I need to read more cozies this year, so thanks for the list. I need to check out some of the ones I haven't heard of before. I hope you enjoy all these when you get to them!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
Thank you, Susan, and you're welcome! :)
DeleteThere are so many wonderful cozies---I can see how you might have missed a few!
ReplyDeleteIndeed there are, Deb! :)
