Sunday Post 6

Hi everyone! Nice to see you again. :-) Have you seen my cozy quilt at the bottom of the right sidebar? Those are all the cozy mysteries I've read (though not necessarily reviewed). I like seeing this quilt grow. The most recent cozies read are always at the top. Notice that the bottom portion is filled with Joanne Fluke's Hannah Swensen mysteries, then I started to branch out.

The weather here has finally cooled down. 60s-70s is nice in the spring and summer, but in the fall I like to feel that chill in the air. It's perfect walking weather for me, followed by a good movie (usually Hallmark) and a good book. There are so many Christmas-themed Hallmark movies I have recorded, so I decided to start watching them this month. I don't even think that will be enough days to watch them all. I should have started in October. I think their Christmas and general winter movies are the best.

Anyway, on with today's book lineup.

I am linking with Reading Reality, who hosts Stacking the Shelves and The Book Date, who hosts It's Monday! What Are You Reading? As always, I post a day early for that one, so be sure to check the link on Monday.

I finished reading Put Out to Pasture (A Farm to Table Mystery 2), by Amanda Flower. I gave it four out of five stars and I will post a review tomorrow.

I continued reading Fiber Fueled: The Plant-Based Gut Health Program for Losing Weight, Restoring Your Health, and Optimizing Your Microbiome, by Will Bulsiewicz and I'm almost halfway through it. I can't say this will be a five-star book when I'm done because I disagree with some of it and at times it's a bit more scientific than I prefer. However, a lot of it is interesting and the author does make some very good points. The ideas that fiber is critical in a healthy diet and diversity is key resonate with me and he gives some  practical suggestions on how to incorporate it into our meals.

Today I'll be picking up "The Diva Runs Out of Thyme" (A Domestic Diva Mystery 1), by Krista Davis from the library. I just love the title of this book!😀 I am so excited to start reading this series this week. The first one takes place around Thanksgiving, which is why I am choosing to read it this month. The setting is Old Town Alexandria, which is about an hour's drive from where I live. I have been there and I remember it being a quaint little town.

I am also participating in another blog hop today - Sunday Post, hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. With this blog hop, I'll recap what I've posted over the past week. If you missed a post you want to read, just click on the link below.

    1. Thank you, Greg! A few of the Hallmark movies earlier in the year were good, but they definitely excel at the Christmas and winter themes. :-)

    1. Thank you, Jenni. I started watching them only a little over a year ago, so I'm also catching up on ones from previous years. :-)

  4. Hallmark definitely knows how to make good holiday movies! I watch a couple a year usually but they kind of start to feel the same if I watch too many. Hope you enjoy every single one you recorded. Hope you find time to read a good book this week.

    1. Thanks, Terrie. I know what you mean about them starting to feel the same. Many of them definitely do have a formula they follow, but every now and then I come across a real gem. :-)

  5. I haven't watched many Hallmark movies lately, but I do enjoy them. They give you the same cozy feeling that cozy mysteries give you. I hope you have a great week!

  6. I love Hallmark Christmas movies and will devour them after Thanksgiving, then not watch any romance for the rest of the year....lol But I love them. Your temps sound wonderful!

    1. Kimberly, I wish Hallmark would make some Thanksgiving-themed movies. It's my favorite holiday. Some of the movies in their fall lineup didn't even have anything to do with fall. Lol. :)

  7. I've been avoiding the Hallmark movies because I know I can easily be sucked right into them and there goes my day! Have a great week! Enjoy your cozies!

    1. Wendy, lol. I understand. I usually watch one each day Monday through Friday. I watch half of it while eating breakfast and the second half while eating lunch. :-)
