Top Ten Tuesday - Books on My TBR List the Longest

Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday! This blog hop is brought to us by That Artsy Reader Girl. On her blog you will see links to the blogs of others who are participating in Top Ten Tuesday.

Today's topic is Bookish Goals for 2023. I already wrote about my goals (to read them click here or on 2023 Reading Challenges on the right sidebar). So I went through previous topics from before I joined and I chose one of those. Today I'll share with you the ten unread books that have been on my Goodreads to-read list the longest (plus one that I already read and want to reread).

This was a good exercise for me to do because I took a good look at my list and deleted books I no longer want to read. I've become much more aware of my likes and dislikes. There's no use cluttering my list with books that no longer interest me. I signed up with Goodreads in mid 2021, so that's as far back as my list goes. I'll go in order and end my list with the one that has been there the longest.

The Christmas Train, by David Baldacci
I watched the Hallmark movie in December 2021 and I loved it! I'm a fan of train movies in general, but this one especially has a good story with a surprise twist at the end. I've been wanting to read the book ever since. I've been hesitating because I love the movie so much and I'm not sure the book will give me the same feels. I guess there's only one way to find out!

Pride and Prescience: Or A Truth Universally Acknowledged (Mr. and Mrs. Darcy Mysteries 1), by Carrie Bebris
I mean, we're combining mystery with Pride and Prejudice. Yes, please!

Dial P For Poison (Movie Club Mysteries 1), by Zara Keane
These series combines two of my favorite hobbies - cozy mysteries and movies.

The Whole Cat and Caboodle (Second Chance Cat Mysteries 2), by Sofie Ryan
I discovered this book after I named my space on a Goodreads challenge, which eventually became the name of my blog - Caboodle of Cozies. It only makes sense that I would have this on my TBR list.

Elementary, She Read (Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery 1), by Vicki Delany
The cozy mystery that's been on my TBR list the longest. I'm curious to see how this integrates Sherlock Holmes, a master of mysteries.

Mary Poppins, by Dr. P.L. Travers
After I watched Saving Mr. Banks, I knew I had to put this book on my TBR list.

A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks
This is the one book on this list that I already read once. It's on my TBR list because I want to read it again (along with every Nicholas Sparks book.)

Mr. Darcy's Diary (Jane Austen Heroes 1), by Amanda Grange
This seems like an interesting book that dives deeper into the mind of Mr. Darcy.

Sons of Pemberley: A Pride and Prejudice Reimagining, by Elizabeth Adams
This book considers what life would have been like if Mr. Darcy hadn't lost his mom so early in life.

Winnie-the-Pooh (Winnie the Pooh 1), by A. A. Milne
I love Winnie the Pooh and it's crazy to think I have yet to read this book.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Oz 1), by Frank L. Baum
I've seen the movie several times, but that movie is based on a book I haven't read yet.

Have you read any of these?

  3. This is a great prompt. I have already read the two books that have been on my Goodreads TBR the longest. I have started working my way down my TBR list when checking books out of the library, trying to mix in the ones that have been there the longest with my mood reading. Good luck with these! https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2023/01/top-ten-tuesday-my-2023-bookish-goals.html

  4. Fun list! I've read the classic ones: Mary Poppins, the Oz books, and Winnie the Pooh. I hope you enjoy all these when you get to them.

    Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

  5. I need to read Mary Poppins too. It's the very first movie I remember seeing as a child, and I have such wonderful memories of it.
