Happy Top Ten Tuesday! This blog hop is brought to us by That Artsy Reader Girl. On her blog you will see links to the blogs of others who are participating in Top Ten Tuesday. If you are a blogger, feel free to join the party through the linky on her blog post.
This week's topic is a non-book freebie. Today I get to share more about me that isn't related to books. I'll also steer away from movies and television since I share a lot about those as well.
Today I'm sharing something that I've always enjoyed, but has become even more a part of my life over the past nine years. In 2014, at the advice of a friend, I made the decision to start taking daily (or almost daily) walks as a way to defeat type 2 diabetes. I'm happy to say that as a result of my walks and an overall lifestyle change, I was able to stop taking my diabetes medication and I'm now able to maintain good blood sugar numbers through a healthy lifestyle.
But walks quickly became more than that to me. My overall health, physical and mental, improved and I also discovered a new passion for photography. Photography became a hobby and it has helped me see the world through a different lens. I take the same path for my walks most days, and yet when I see the same things I still feel like I'm looking at some things for the first time. That sense of wonder has remained.
I don't focus on photography nearly as much as I used to since I started blogging and reading more, but I do still enjoy it. So today, I am sharing with you ten of my favorite pictures that span the past nine years (though not all years are covered). Not all of these were taken on my regular walks. Some were taken during other outings. All of these pictures were taken in the spring in their respective years. Consider this also a celebration of Earth Day, coming up this weekend.

DeleteI love walks and hiking, but have little motivation on the really cold days! Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cindy. I'm more of a cold weather person than a hot weather person. I will walk in 20 degrees, but not 85. Lol. :-)
