Top Ten (and More) Tuesday - June Caboodle of Movies

Happy Top Ten Tuesday! This blog hop is brought to us by That Artsy Reader Girl. On her blog you will see links to the blogs of others who are participating in Top Ten Tuesday. If you are a blogger, feel free to join the party through the linky on her blog post.

Happy Independence Day to my American friends! Since today also happens to be the first Tuesday of the month, I am going to share my monthly list of movies watched in June.

Letterboxd allows for half stars, but I'm sticking to whole instead of sliced mushrooms. The heart indicates when the movie had the "it" factor, that something special that makes it a favorite of mine. It's probably one I would re-watch. It does not have to earn five mushrooms in order to earn a heart. There could be plot holes, etc., but if it was still immensely enjoyable, it earned a heart.

The number on the left is the date in June when I watched the movie. Most of the time, I watch half a movie in the morning while having breakfast and the second half in the afternoon while having lunch. Hallmark movies, which are mostly what I watch, are all less than 90 minutes long without commercials, so via DVR I can easily watch one per day most days.
Here's the full list for June:

30 My Favorite Wedding (2021)πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„

Every single one of these are Hallmark movies and most are wedding-themed. Some of them were premieres this June and others are older ones. There was a good bit of diversity in the June 2023 premieres. My favorite June 2023 premieres were Wedding Season and The Wedding Contract. Next was Make Me a Match. Love's Greek to Me had stunning scenery (it was filmed on location in Greece) and the acting was superb, but there were major problems with the plot. I find that happens a lot, though not always, with the destination movies.

Two new mysteries aired and I enjoyed them both. You can read my reviews of them (The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango and Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New) by clicking on those links above. Something New was my favorite of the month. In fact, I would even say it's my favorite of the year so far.

Wedding Every Weekend and Cut, Color, Murder were both re-watches. I liked Wedding Every Weekend as much as I did the first time I watched it. I liked Cut, Color, Murder more the second time around. I have that on my agenda to review.

Elevator Girl was Lacey Chabert's first Hallmark movie and it's a gem. Not perfect, but I really enjoyed it. It hasn't aired on The Hallmark Channel in a long time, but I was able to record recently when it aired on both Pixl and Uptv. I had been wanting to see it for a long time.

Summer Villa is another older Hallmark movie. This was my first time watching it and I enjoyed it. It definitely has that classic vibe to it.

This month will mostly be about Christmas in July, but there will be some other themes mixed in.

Did you watch any good movies in June? Let me know in the comments!

    1. Deanna, I used to rarely watch movies. Then, a few years ago, I decided to treat myself to one movie a month. It started to add up until it became one movie almost every day! :-)

    1. I agree! Many of Hallmark's best movies are centered around Christmas. :-)
