Sunday Post 59

Hello, friends!

Through Monday I am linking with the following:

On these blogs you will be able to see links to the posts from others who are participating in these blog hops, and if you're a blogger, you can join too.

I received my Kindle Paperwhite! Woohoo!!! I have it all set up, but I haven't read anything on it yet. I ordered the case a few days later, on Cyber Monday, and it hasn't arrived yet. It was supposed to arrive on Saturday, but it has been delayed. I may not receive it until Tuesday.

I didn't post anything on my blog since last Sunday and I didn't read anything over the past week. I did listen to an audiobook, but that's all I had the time and energy for. Hopefully I'll be more productive this week.

RECENTLY FINISHED
πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„πŸ„
I listened to
Twelve Slays of Christmas (Christmas Tree Farm Mystery 1), written by Jacqueline Frost and narrated by Allyson Ryan. It certainly had all the Christmas feels and it was a good mystery, although I thought it was a little slow-moving at times. Overall I liked it enough to continue listening to the series and this may be a re-read or re-listen next year.
IN/PROGRESS POSTPONING
A Fatal Feast
(Murder, She Wrote 32), by Donald Bain and Jessica Fletcher, would have been the perfect read around Thanksgiving weekend, but I wasn't able to finish it. If I continue reading it now, I won't have time for the Christmas selections, so I will have to pick it up again next year. Something to look forward to.
I will also have to postpone reading A Nutcracker Nightmare (Killer Chocolate Mystery 2), by Christina Romeril. I should have more time to read it later this month.
I am also postponing
Wedding Cake Murder (Hannah Swensen 19), by Joanne Fluke. I did read the first page and I'm already baffled by what is happening in Hannah's life. LOL. I'm eager to read it, hopefully later this month.
UP NEXT
The Mystery of Mrs. Christie
, by Marie Benedict, is a book I've been wanting to read for a couple of months. I found out it is the December selection in a book club at my local library, so I've decided to read it for that. This is a book about the mysterious real-life, 11-day disappearance of Agatha Christie. The book club is coming up in less than two weeks and I know how slowly I've been reading lately, so this will be my main focus for now.
'Twas the Knife Before Christmas
, by Jacqueline Frost, is the second in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series. After having just finished the first one, I'm planning to listen to this second one this week. Like the first one, it is narrated by Allyson Ryan.

ON TELEVISON
  • Christmas movies
    • A Biltmore Christmas - If there is only one Hallmark Christmas movie you watch this season, please let it be this masterpiece! Time travel happens to be my favorite movie trope, so I was already excited about it for that reason. However, I know of people who don't usually enjoy time travel movies, but they really liked this one. This is in my top two favorite movies of the entire year (the other one being Take Me Back for Christmas, which premiered on The Hallmark Channel in July). A Biltmore Christmas is so well done - the acting, the plot, the cinematography, the fashion, the chemistry, the script, the music, and the list goes on! It stars Kristoffer Polaha and Bethany Joy Lenz. They are no strangers to Hallmark and pairing them together for this movie was perfection. There was a lot of hype leading up to this movie and it most definitely lived up to it. It surpassed my expectations. In case you can't tell, I really liked it a lot. Lol.
    • Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up - This follow-up to last year's movie was also highly anticipated. Although I found some characters over-the-top annoying, I did enjoy the movie overall. I liked it about as much as I did the first one. I'd watch it again just for the humor. This also premiered on The Hallmark Channel during Merry Thanksgiving Weekend.
    • One December Night - This movie premiered two years ago on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, but it was my first time watching it last week. It touches on the deep issue of alcoholism. I enjoy Eloise Mumford in just about every movie she stars in and this one was good too. However, it's a bit too serious for me to watch it again. I'm glad I watched it once, though.
    • A Merry Christmas Wish - This movie premiered on GAC Family last year and it stars Cameron Mathison and Jill Wagner. It's been on my radar for a while and I finally watched it. I'll watch Cameron Mathison's movies on whichever channel they air. I wasn't too impressed with the few movies I had seen GAC Family before, but I really liked this one a lot. I think it had a lot to do with the two leads. It was very enjoyable to watch.
  • Friends - I'm almost at the end of season 5 and Ross can't flirt. Lol.

WEEKLY BLOG RECAP
I have already started preparing my monthly November movies and books wrap-up, so stay tuned for that this week, most likely on Tuesday. I am hoping to ease back into the swing of things and get at least one review posted too, as well as a return to Five for Friday and a new puzzle.

That's all for now! Have a great week!

    1. Thank you. And I agree. We'll never know exactly what happened, but I'm interested in the theories. I only heard about the whole thing a couple months ago. :)
