Hi everyone!
Welcome to another Sunday Post! I'm not sure what happened to spring, but over the past few days, summer was in the air and today it feels like fall. I don't function well in heat and humidity, so I'm more than happy to see temperatures in the 60s forecasted for the next week! We got a deluge of rain yesterday and it was after that when the temperatures dropped to my comfort level.
I am once again linking with Reading Reality, who hosts Stacking the Shelves, and The Book Date, who hosts It's Monday! What Are You Reading? The latter is posted on Mondays, so be sure to check the link then. On these blogs you will be able to see links to the posts from others who are participating in these blog hops, and if you're a blogger, you can join too.

Rolling Warrior: The Incredible, Sometimes Awkward, True Story of a Rebel Girl on Wheels Who Helped Spark a Revolution, by Judith Heumann with Kristen Joiner, is the version of Judy Heumann's memoir for a younger audience. It's really well-written and deserving of five solid stars. I don't remember ever learning about what's in this book in school, but it certainly should be part of the curriculum. It's an important part of American history.

Love By Chance, by Kacy Cross, was such a breath of fresh air, especially after having just read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowling, not long before I started it. You can read my four-star review here.
IN PROGRESS
I'm more than halfway done with A Brush with Murder (Paint by Murder Mystery 1), by Bailee Abbott. I'll definitely finish by Tuesday because that's when the book club meets. I'm planning to post my review later this week on Wednesday or Thursday. If you want to get a glimpse into this book, check out my Book Beginnings and Friday 56 posts here.
UP NEXT
I will read Checked Out for Murder (Haunted Library Mystery 4), by Allison Brook, next. I've had it checked out from the library (which I don't believe is haunted) for a while and it will be due soon. I was waiting until spring to start reading it, as it takes place in April.
Now that I've finished watching all of the Harry Potter movies, I'm ready to continue with the book series by J.K. Rowling. Next up is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I read the first two, but for the remaining books in the series, I'm going to listen to them on audio. Otherwise, it will take too much time away from other books I want to read. I think these will be fun to listen to.
I am also participating in Sunday Post, hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. With this blog hop, I'll recap what I've recently posted. If you missed a post you want to read (or if you want to read it again!), just click on the link below.

I finished watching Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered ten-episode t.v. series and I really enjoyed it! Since the next one in the series is a Christmas movie, I'm going to wait until July (Christmas in July) to watch the rest of the movies.
Soon I will be subscribing to Hallmark Movies Now to make it easier to watch the older Hallmark movies, especially the mysteries. For the longest time, I tried to convince myself not to subscribe to another streaming service. However, as much as I love Hallmark movies, it will be worth the money for me. The regular Hallmark channels sometimes air the older movies, but they don't always air all of them in each series all at once. So it's difficult to record all of them and watch them in order. For just a few extra dollars a month, Hallmark Movies Now will make my life a whole lot easier. I'll consider an annual subscription a belated birthday gift to myself.
Yesterday I watched The Fabelmans. I had been on the waiting list at the library and it was finally ready to be picked up. Apart from the cursing, which I never find appealing, I thought it was a really well-done movie. What I liked most about it was the pacing. There was never a dull moment and I was fully engaged the entire time. No time was wasted in the two and a half hours. They did a really good job of showing the most significant parts of his life and sewing it all together into a cohesive movie. It's nice to see a non-action-packed movie that's good. I feel like the action movies get most of the attention, but there are some really good ones out there that don't have a lot of action scenes. This is one of them.
I also finished watching the Harry Potter movie series. I will probably share my personal ranking of the movies when I post my monthly list of movies watched in a couple of weeks.
Now that the Harry Potter series is done, I'll be happy to get back to my Hallmark movies. While I did enjoy the Harry Potter experience overall, Hallmark is my happy place. :-) I have not watched any of the 2023 Spring into Love premieres, so I'll be catching up on all of those. I will also re-watch the final two Murder, She Baked/Hannah Swensen movies and post reviews of them soon.

I've heard excellent things about the Harry Potter audio books. Hope you enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteMark, I started listening to it yesterday. The narration so good!! :)
DeleteWith a streaming service you can watch all the Hallmark movies you want. That amazing.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Thank you! :-)
DeleteIf you will use the service, it's worth it. The only time it's not is if you don't get your money's worth out of it.
ReplyDeleteSo very true! :-)
