Happy Super Bowl Sunday, friends! If you will be watching the game (or even just the commercials or half time show) I hope you enjoy it! Since my Ravens were eliminated, I don't have a preference for who wins. Let's just get the season over with and begin anew in the fall.π
Today I am once again linking with Reading Reality, who hosts Stacking the Shelves and The Book Date, who hosts It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (This is posted on Mondays, so be sure to check the link then.) On their blogs you will be able to see links to the posts from others who are participating in these blog hops, and if you're a blogger you can join too!

I'll be reading Chapters 10 and 11 in the e-book version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, by J.K. Rowling this week. I'm enjoying it, but to be honest, so far I liked the movie more. I'm probably in the minority, but that's my feeling as of right now. Perhaps I'll change my mind as I read more.
I finished Buried in the Stacks (Haunted Library Mystery 3), by Allison Brook last week. I'll review it soon, but not this week.
This week I'll be reading Survival of the Fritters (Deputy Donut Mystery 1), by Ginger Bolton. Two book clubs I'm participating in this year will be reading this book, which I'm excited about. I like discussing these books with others who have read them. (P.S. I love the cover of this book!)
My audiobook listen for last week was The Secret Ingredient, written by Nancy Naigle and narrated by Karissa Vacker. I am planning to post my review on Monday. I do have other things going on this weekend and on Monday, though, so if I don't post it then, I will soon.
My audiobook listen for this week will be Sweeter Than Chocolate, written by Lizzie Shane and narrated by Brittany Pressley. This is another book that was published by Hallmark and made into a movie. I watched the movie and really enjoyed it, so I'm fairly certain I'll enjoy the book. Like The Secret Ingredient, it has a Valentine's Day theme.
I had planned on finishing The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Uncertain Times, by Michelle Obama last week. I did make good headway with it, but I didn't finish it yet. I'll keep reading some of it each week. I think the reason I'm struggling to finish it is because I feel a stronger pull towards fiction right now. Also, while I enjoy reading about her life, I haven't learned anything new that I can apply to my life. I feel like the title and introduction suggest this is a self-improvement book, when it's actually more of a memoir. That's not a bad thing. It's just very different than what I expected.
I am also participating in another blog hop today - Sunday Post, hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. With this blog hop, I'll recap what I've posted over the couple of weeks. If you missed a post you want to read, just click on the link below.

As for television highlights, I watched the fourth episode of The Way Home. I like how the plot is gradually unfolding and each week we learn more, right along with some of the characters.
I'm so excited more new mysteries are continuing to air on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. I watched Curious Caterer: Grilling Season last week. While is isn't perfect, I really enjoyed it and would definitely watch it again. I hope they continue to make more of these (and other mysteries).
Did you see any of the movies or read or listen to any of the books I mentioned? If so, what are your thoughts on them?
I am not watching the Super Bowl. I am reading, resting, and blogging ;) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great evening, Cindy! :-)
DeleteHaha I'm not really pulling for either team either, I'll mainly watch for the commericials and just enjoy the show. :)
ReplyDeleteGreg, what a great game it was! I only watched the first half. The rest was past my bedtime. Lol. :-)
DeleteI do hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I did! :-)
DeleteLooks like you had a busy week. I want to read the Michelle Obama book too soon, So I'll be looking foreard to your review.
ReplyDeleteWendy, I won't post a review like I do for cozy books and movies, but I'll share my thoughts on my Sunday Post when I'm done. :-)
DeleteThanks for the update on The Light We Carry. I've seen a lot of people hauling that book, but I haven't seen many reviews yet.
ReplyDeleteMost of the reviews I've read basically say it's a pretty good book, but that Becoming was better. I have not read Becoming. I'll continue to update as I read more of it. :-)
DeleteI watch some of the Super Bowl after I got home from work.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Thank you! :-)
