Hi, everyone!
It's Sunday, so I am once again linking with Reading Reality, who hosts Stacking the Shelves, and The Book Date, who hosts It's Monday! What Are You Reading? (The latter is posted on Mondays, so be sure to check the link then.) On all of these blogs you will be able to see links to the posts from others who are participating in these blog hops, and if you're a blogger, you can join too.
I keep forgetting to link up with The Book Date on Mondays, so let's see if I remember this week!

RECENTLY FINISHED
I didn't finish reading any books this week. I guess some weeks are like that.
IN PROGRESS
I am almost done reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, by J.K. Rowling. I have three more chapters to go, so I should finish today or tomorrow. I'm a slower reader than most people I know. It takes me an hour to read one chapter in this book, but most importantly, I am enjoying it. I must say, though, just like the first one, I like the movie even more. I feel like the pacing is better in the movie. Plus there's one scene in this book that I found really disturbing and I don't remember it being in the movie.
The Complete Book of the Flower Fairies, by Cicely Mary Barker, was first published 100 years ago. Cicely Mary Barker drew the pictures and wrote the poems in this book. I received it as a gift for Christmas last year and I've been saving it to start reading in the spring because most of the poems are grouped seasonally and it begins with spring. I am going to read just one poem a day, so this book will take me all year to finish. With April being National Poetry Month, it's the perfect time to start reading it.
UP NEXT
I'm still very much looking forward to reading A Hint of Mischief (Fairy Garden Mystery 3), by Daryl Wood Gerber, next. If you haven't noticed, I love fairies. This is the series that sparked my interest in them.
I'll be participating in a book club for Love by Chance, by Kacy Cross, later this month. So I'm getting started with the e-book this week. Tonight I will be watching the movie that the book is based on. It's the first time I'll be participating in this book club. They read books that Hallmark movies are based on or vice versa. This will also be the first time I'm reading a book that is based on a movie rather than the other way around.
Rolling Warrior, by Judith Heumann with Kristen Joiner, is the young reader's edition of Being Heumann, by the same authors. (To read my thoughts on Being Heumann, click here.) I am curious to see how this book is different than the first one I read. I will start reading this e-book on April 5th, which is the anniversary of when the 504 sit-in began in 1977. It resulted in enforcement of the first major disability rights law. The sit-in lasted 26 days and I just may take my time and read it over those 26 days.
I am also participating in another blog hop today - Sunday Post, hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer. With this blog hop, I'll recap what I've recently posted. If you missed a post you want to read, just click on the link below.

I will be sure to report back! :-)
DeleteI've never read a book based on a movie before. I love those Hallmark movies, so I would think the books would be good too
ReplyDeleteWendy, I love Hallmark movies too! :-)
DeleteThe Flower Fairies book looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt is, Greg. Both the poems and the illustrations are sweet. :-)
