Sunday Post 65

Hi everyone!

Through Monday, I am linking with the following:

On the above blogs you will be able to see links to the posts from others who are participating in these blog hops, and if you're a blogger, you can join too.

Our weather sure did warm up in a hurry. We went from accumulating snow to needing the A/C on. At least I did. It was not only warm, but also humid. I mostly turned on the A/C because of the humidity. That only lasted a couple of days, though. We're back to more seasonal temps. Unfortunately, it's not cold enough to snow, so we've been getting cold rain. I don't mind the rain, I just wish it were snow.

In other news, I'm really trying to incorporate more strength training into my weekly exercise routine. I did pretty well last week and hopefully this week will be even better. Part of my motivation (besides getting healthier) is I listen to audiobooks or podcasts while I work out. Same with my hand cycle for cardio on days when I'm not able to get out for a walk. When I take my walks, I prefer to just listen to the sounds of nature.

Good luck to your NFL team today unless they're the Kansas City Chiefs and they're playing my Ravens. :D I don't have any channels that carry sports (or news), so I won't be watching the game. I have a friend who is giving me updates. GO RAVENS!!!

RECENTLY FINISHED
🍄🍄🍄🍄
I read Pride, Prejudice, and Poison (Jane Austen Society Mystery 1), by Elizabeth Blake. I struggled through the first part when a lot of characters were introduced. I highlighted the names and jotted down notes about each one. I kept referring back to those notes until I really got to know everyone. Then I steamrolled through the second half of the book in one day. I will post my review next week. You can read some excerpts here.
🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄
I finished listening to #TagMe for Murder (Trending Topic 2), written by Sarah E. Burr and narrated by Laura Darrell. I really loved this book! You can read some excerpts here and you can read my review here.
IN PROGRESS
The Mystery of Mrs. Christie
, by Marie Benedict, is the only book I'll be reading this week so I can finish it once and for all. I'm already halfway through it, so I should be able to finish it by mid-week. I am interested in it. It has taken me a while to finish it because other books, mostly cozy mysteries, were calling my name. I'm not going to move on to another book to read until I finish this one. Mark my words.
I read and reviewed an e-ARC of
Magic, Movies, and Murder (Bewitcher's Beach Mystery 1), by Emily Fluke, last year and I loved it. So I'm very excited that the audiobook was just released and I was able to get an ARC of it! I'm enjoying the audiobook. The narrator does a great job bringing the characters to life.
UP NEXT
I received an e-ARC from NetGalley for DM Me for Murder (Trending Topic 3), by Sarah E. Burr, so I'll be reading this one next. I'm really enjoying the series, so I'm really looking forward to it.
I requested the audiobook for Greenlights, by Matthew McConaughey, on Libby a while ago. It became available for me last week, but I wasn't ready to listen to it. So I requested that it be delivered later. I should be able to start listening to it sometime this week. I don't think I've seen anything that Matthew McConaughey has starred it, but I've heard this book is excellent. So I thought I'd give it a listen.
ON TELEVISON
  • Betty's Bad Luck in Love - This was a Hallmark premiere and it was terrible. It's easily my least favorite Hallmark movie ever (and I have seen hundreds of them). They tried to make it a comedy, but it wasn't funny. The main character needed professional counseling. I'm all for comedies, but they crossed the line in this movie.
  • Ice Dreams - I watched this movie on PixL. It's a 2009 movie. It caught my attention because I love to watch ice skating. It was okay, but definitely not a favorite.
  • A Winter Princess - This was a 2019 Hallmark movie. I'm usually not a fan of their royal movies, but I was desperately seeking a winter romcom. It was okay.
  • The Winter Palace - This was my favorite movie that I watched last week. It aired on GAC and it had all the winter feels I was looking for.
  • Friends - I continued watching season 7 where Monica and Chandler are engaged. Phoebe remains my favorite character in this series. She's so quirky and funny!
  • The Way Home - Season 2 has commenced!! It's off to a fantastic start. Episode one was great! I am intrigued and can't wait to watch the next episode. It airs tonight, so I'll watch it on Monday.
  • Murder, She Wrote - I actually didn't watch any episodes of this last week, but I forgot to mention it on last week's Sunday Post. I'm a few episodes into season 3.

  1. Looks like we can't be friends until this game is over. I'm rooting for the Chiefs (Mahommes is my QB in my fantasy league). ;)

Sounds like your weather was warmer than ours. We are in the 70's this weekend, but I still don't need the AC.

    1. Lol Mark! :) It's going to take me a while to recover from today's Ravens loss. Congrats to you and the Chiefs! As for the weather, we were in the 70s also and I needed the A/C. Lol. It was really the humidity that affected me. If it weren't humid, I most likely would have just had the windows open. (I'd still prefer snow in January, though!)

  3. I hope your rain turns to snow for your sake. The weather here has gotten warmer as well and I was able to open the windows to let in the fresh air. I hope you are enjoying your reading. I am focusing on one book for the moment so I can make a good dent in it before I start another at the very least. I hope you have a great week!

  5. I am sorry your team lost today. I guess that means the Super Bowl is coming up soon.

The Matthew McConaughey book is bound to be intriguing, I think!

  6. Sorry about your Ravens! I didn't watch any of the playoff games and may miss watching the Super Bowl too. I'm too busy reading and listening to audiobooks. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  8. Good luck with strength training! I did a lot of that last winter, but then my schedule changed, and I haven't gotten back to it. I liked it.
